The registrations for Karnataka Teachers Eligibility Test (KAR TET) 2016 have begun on October 14 and will be concluded on November 9. The candidates can download the admit cards from November 18.
Educational Qualification
Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Stage (Paper-I) :
Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI- VIII: Elementary Stage (Paper - II)
Minimum qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I - VIII: Elementary Stage (Paper - I and II)
Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Stage (Paper-I) :
- PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in final year of two-year diploma in Elementary Education OR PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in final year of four- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in final year of two-year diploma in Education (Special Education)
- B.A /B.Sc graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year diploma in Elementary Education
Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI- VIII: Elementary Stage (Paper - II)
- B.A / B.Sc Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year diploma in Elementary Education
- B.A /B.Sc graduation with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in one-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
- PUC /Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in final year of four- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
- PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in final year of four- year B.A /B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed /B.Sc.Ed
- B.A / B.Sc graduation with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in one-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

- PUC / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50 per cent and passed or appearing in final year of four year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- B.A / B.Sc graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year diploma in Elementary Education
In order to apply online, candidates are required to follow the steps mentioned below:
Candidate's particulars can be edited till the payment of fees. Once the payment of fee has been made, candidate particulars cannot be edited.
- Go to the official website, schooleducation.kar.nic.in
- Click on the link, 'Online Application for Karnataka Teachers Eligibility Test - 2016'
- Thereafter, click on to 'Registrations/Login' and then on 'Registration'
- Fill in the necessary details such as full name, mobile number, email id, user name and password
- After submitting the details, the next step is 'Generate Challan'
- Make payment of fee through download challan for payment in the designated account of State Bank of Mysore
- Upload Scanned images of photograph and signature
- Take a printout of confirmation page
Candidate's particulars can be edited till the payment of fees. Once the payment of fee has been made, candidate particulars cannot be edited.
